What is LEADForEarth?

A Movement Rooted in Faith and Action

LEADForEarth is the environmental initiative of the Lasallian East Asia District, a network of Lasallian schools across the region committed to sustainability and environmental protection. Emerging from the first International LEAD EcoCamp, the program is a joint effort designed to move our institutions from simple environmental awareness to concrete, repeatable action.

This continuous movement brings together our diverse sustainability commitments under a single banner: #LEADforEarth. By leveraging social media, we aim to showcase the tangible steps our schools and communities are taking. Highlighting these collective efforts proves that real, collaborative change is happening while inspiring a broader audience to join the cause.

Grounded in the Lasallian core value of Communion in Mission, LEADForEarth trusts each institution to contribute in a way that is most meaningful to its local context. Ultimately, we are united not by strict uniformity, but by a shared and enduring mission to protect our planet.

Our Mission

To empower Lasallian students across East Asia to take coordinated environmental action, united under one banner: #LEADforEarth.

Our Vision

A district where students are empowered to act, and where the Lasallian community stands united in ecological stewardship. A future where environmental action is seen, celebrated, and never forgotten.

Spirit of Faith

Every action we take is grounded in our relationship with the Creator who entrusted this Earth to our care.

Zeal for Service

We translate concern into concrete action, approaching our work with generosity, creativity, and awareness of climate's impact on local communities.

Communion in Mission

Different campuses, different actions, one shared mission. We support each other across continents as one global body of young Lasallians.

How It Works

A District-Wide Campaign

Every school, every campus, one shared mission. Each step moves us closer to collective, visible impact.

01

Create Action

Each participating school selects an environmental action that's meaningful and feasible for its own community.

02

Post with #LEADforEarth

Document your action on your school's official social media platforms using #LEADforEarth, and share your story with the district committee.

03

Reflect & Report

Hold a short climate literacy discussion during the action day, then submit a standardized report to the district coordinating committee.

04

Share Your Story

The district committee will compile the stories and share them on the official LEADForEarth social media platforms, highlighting the collective impact of all participating schools.

Our Foundations

Grounded in Faith and Global Goals

LEADForEarth is rooted in two complementary frameworks: the Catholic Church's call to care for creation through Laudato Si' and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Together, they guide both the spirit and the direction of our work.

Laudato Si' · Encyclical Letter, 2015

"

All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents.

Pope Francis, §14

Laudato Si', meaning "Praise be to you," is Pope Francis's encyclical on caring for our common home. It calls every individual, community, and institution to take responsibility for the environment. For Lasallian schools, it is a spiritual mandate that directly informs our participation in LEADForEarth.
